LA BASURERA
 ENOL
 ENOL
THE TRASH COLLECTOR
She'd go anywhere without a suitcase
Unpredictable, like the wind turning a weather vane
She wanted to help at home
And even though she finished school
Life's circumstances now have her working as a trash collector
She wakes up even earlier than the sun
When the stars are hiding away
And I've never told her
But I envy how she sees the world
One day she told me, "Cheer up, things can always get worse"
Better to be sad than to feel nothing, or at least that's what I think
We're younger than we'll ever be again
We've got time and gas in the tank
And since that night, I live like she taught me
She laughs
In a month, what others do in a whole lifetime
And she pulls away
Always the first to let go of hugs
She gets a tattoo when she comes back from a trip so she never forgets when her memory fades
Because sometimes remembering what we lost is a victory
She wakes up even earlier than the sun
When the stars are hiding away
And I've never told her
But I envy how she sees the world
One day she told me, "Cheer up, things can always get worse"
Better to be sad than to feel nothing, or at least that's what I think
We're younger than we'll ever be again
We've got time and gas in the tank
And since that night, I live like she taught me
