In front of Christ, in front of the Christ the Redeemer
A muleteer knelt down
And prayed, and prayed for the souls
Of the brave grenadiers

They were brave men from Cuyo
With hearts of steel

I want to raise my song
Like a lament of tradition
For the grenadiers
Who defended my nation (jea-uau)
I ask for those souls
To be blessed by Our Lord

Our Lady of Cuyo
Witnessed the crossing of the Andes
And blessed General San Martín
The greatest among the great

Cradle of eternal laurels
With which my homeland is adorned
It's Mendoza the guardian
For being the most gaucho land
