excited as a flower blooms
arguing about why the balloon
popped, getting us drunk on
laughter and pain.
Today I want to be without understanding
the distance that will separate us,
the border that tears apart
the little that's left
so one can
distribute love
in the times to come.

but harsh reality destroyed
the sweet dream that we built, you and I.
