In my roadside ranch
We don't eat foreign food
But we eat 'carreteiro' rice
Barbecue and 'cuscuz' which is rustic food

We don't use French perfume
But we use scented water
With a little spice that the lady made for me

We don't use a fan
But we open a crack
So the wind refreshes its interior

In my roadside ranch
There is no pollution
But there is the purest air
In the greenest fields of my corner

I have the possession and the domain
I don't get involved with real estate
I don't pay rent and that thing called condominium
