Avenida Boiadeira
Nalva Aguiar
Boiadeira Avenue
As in almost all cities
There is an avenue where cattle pass
In my land there was also
An avenue into my past
And there were so many afternoons of clear Sun
So many clouds of dust
That this avenue today bears my name
After being a cattle road
Old avenue
Where I left a trace of childhood
That turned into longing
And today it exists on every corner
My name written for eternity
It was the long herd of my time
Walking slowly in silence
My old cowboy heart
You know it's coming, but you don't know when
Maybe when the silk-cotton trees have
Open your fragrant flowers
Just like the old silk-cotton tree one day
Its shade served to rest cattle
If pain is written on a stone tombstone
Today I found it on shiny plates
My name written shining because
I received this tribute with pleasure
It was 40 years of work
Which are fortunately recognized
When my verses fly to the sky
In my land someone has read them
