She dreamed of leaving for Mexico
To walk barefoot, no burdens to bear
I’ve pictured her so many times in the backdrop
Of a sea that waved goodbye and her face
Smiling, relaxed on a rock
Happy and proud to enjoy the time

Who knows if she’s got no more scars
And still makes necklaces with the stars
Only she could gather them at night like seashells
She kept them all next to her bed
So she’d always have a bit of light around

With her flowery dress, I can picture her
The wind in her hair while she drinks a beer
Her watch always stuck at noon
So she wouldn’t think about time and keep on doing
She won’t feel the weight of life anymore
She’ll walk light towards a new beginning
