Used his shadow as a blackboard
And the chalk was lime from an old wall
He wrote the lesson when he found
The Sun in front to make the projection
Used his shadow as a chalkboard

And he went through the towns and taught
To the children farthest from education
They said his wife did the same
That they were a couple, teacher and professor

And the children from the neighborhoods loved them
Because they gave their lesson on the street
And the stones were abacuses and maps
And their shadow was always the blackboard

Teachers, pay attention to this teaching
The answer lies in the same vocation
The evidence is in the shadows and in the stones
And in the lime of that old wall
-The white chalk of that old blackboard-

Then know that the teacher and the teacher
Will continue on the path under the Sun
While the afternoon lengthens in the forest
Those shadows they will use as a blackboard
