Boi Cigano
Liga do Vaqueiro
Gypsy Bull
I went to a party in the Pernambuco backlands
I caught the toughest bull in the region
When I got to the party, I heard the gossip, be careful
When you go into the woods
'Cause the gypsy bull is quick like a cat
To catch him, you gotta have some guts
The rancher hugged me and said this rumor's been around for over fifteen years
I’ve got a diploma for anyone who catches the gypsy and ties him to a post
I went into the woods and found his tracks, kept walking
Further ahead, I spotted him, shouted four times and jumped
On the horse after him
I raced with him up on a hilltop
The bull was running up on the hill
He took off looking for the lowlands
Leaving rocks and thorny bushes torn up
I went to catch him in a thicket
The old bull couldn’t handle the chase
I tied him to a log of aroeira
The smell of the bark stuck to my hat, my chaps, and my vest
I kept that diploma as a memento, it’s proof that
Back in my childhood, I was a cowboy and had a lot of confidence
I ran in the woods and honored my profession
I was a cowboy and had a lot of confidence
I ran in the woods and honored my profession
