Rhodos im Regen
Udo Jürgens
Rhodes In The Rain
The Sun burned on the white houses
And my throat almost dried up on the way
I stopped just to go to the local tavern
She had black hair and dark eyes
And she brought me wine and she said to me
Rain will soon come to the valley and then it will be nice here
Rhodes in the rain
Green gemstone in the sea
And if the Sun shines tomorrow morning
It sparkles brightly like never before
The old trees open their branches
And the buds on it pop up overnight
And the roses bloom as if awakened from sleep
Brand new
The children dance laughing in the streets
And the farmers in the field silently say their thanks
Bells ring through the valley, for the need passed the country by
Rhodes in the rain
Green gemstone in the sea
And if the Sun shines tomorrow morning
It sparkles brightly like never before
She lay in my arms all night
And the rain fell and very deep inside me
Had the longing of the past, which seemed lost to me, awakened
Rhodes in the rain
Green gemstone in the sea
And if the Sun shines tomorrow morning
It sparkles brightly like never before
