Musik, Musik!
Udo Jürgens
Music, Music!
I bought a drink for the man at the piano
He looked at me for a long time without saying a word
And later he stood up and sat down next to me
And he began to tell
The day it all started, I was just ten
I saw an old grand piano at a school friend's house
I touched its keys and I listened to how it sounded
I lost my heart to music from that hour on
In a second-hand shop, my parents bought me
Because I didn't leave them alone, a year later a piano
And my mother thought when she saw me practicing
One day, her son will become a big star
Music, music from my life
I gave you the best years
Music, music I tried so hard
But you have always changed
And you went on new paths
And I ran ran ran after
And then at sixteen I bought every hit
And I always played along to the records on the piano
Sometimes in the style of little Richard or like fats domino
I admired Ray Charles and jerry lee lewis so
Later I left school and played with the band
Rock'n'roll and soul and folk songs according to the latest trend
I sent my tape to every record company
Every time the great hope but the answer no
Music, music from my life
I gave you the best years
Music, music I tried so hard
But you have always changed
And you went on new paths
And I ran ran ran after
Everyone from the band from back then was looking for jobs and switched
But I still write songs sometimes I ask myself why
To make a living, I am a pianist in a bar in the evenings
And I know I will never become a big star
Music ,music from my life
I gave you the best years
Music, music I tried so hard
But you have always changed
And you went on new paths
And I ran ran ran after
