Eisblumen

Frost Flowers
I was a child and believed in ghosts
Winter was an icy patron
And he painted flowers on my window
Sometimes I still dream about it today
Sometimes they looked like a rose hedge
Sometimes like dragons from the land of fairy tales
And then I crawled under my blanket
And held the teddy - tightly in my hand
This is countless winters
Countless years ago
And the frost flowers on the window
They don't bloom anymore today
And a snowman stood in our garden
He could talk to me, of course
Helped me like a great friend while I waited
Until it was time for presents
I saw the fire engine right away
Santa really thought of it!
I took it to bed with me when I went to sleep
And the frost flowers - guarded us
This is countless winters
Countless years ago
And the frost flowers on the window
They don't bloom anymore today
But sometimes when I see children playing
In the winter snow, then I have the feeling
The frost flowers are very close to me'
And I can see her again if I want!
Sometimes it takes many winters
But then a dream from the past comes true
And the ice flowers on the window
They'll be back!
And the wonders of childhood
They are suddenly imaginable
Because the frost flowers on the window
They're back now!
And the wonders of childhood
They are suddenly imaginable
Because the frost flowers on the window
They're back now!
