Die Bäume meiner Kinderzeit
Udo Jürgens
The Trees Of My Childhood
Where are the old trees
My childhood
Where are the sweet dreams
Are you already that far
Where forests once rustled
There is a sea of houses
Where we listened to the springs
City traffic roars
Where are the beautiful words
Which you then don’t keep
Back when we found each other
The world was still blooming
Where once the broom bush
Yellow flowers offered
Lies in the haze and black smoke
Our Dawn
Far on the edge of our gratitude
Is there still happiness
Far from the noise of the highways
A distant green is greening
There they are you have to look for them
They are still there
Firs, oaks and beeches
Just not so close anymore
Where are the old trees
My childhood
