Der werfe den ersten Stein
Udo Jürgens
Let Him Who Is Without Sin Cast The First Stone
We are not born to be angels
The devil often interferes heavily
Usually lost somewhere in the daily grind
He always likes to trip us up
Hate a little gossip, argue about money
Judging a little too quickly
We are no better than the rest of the world
And yet they want to break the stick over others
Clenched fist instead of outstretched hand
Everyone bears the mark of Cain
Only those who believe they have nothing from Cain
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Whoever has never done anything forbidden in his life
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Who has no secret wishes
We sit too often as moralists
Outraged at others in judgment
As if we knew everything about life
With know-it-all arrogance on his face
And yet look through the forbidden door
And would gladly take a risk
We feel the strange desire
After what we otherwise loudly criticize
Hidden desire to go for it myself
The path that we see as the detour of others
Only those who believe they have nothing from Cain
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Who has no secret wishes
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Whoever has never done anything forbidden in his life
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone
Who has no secret wishes
