Cachorro Valente
Jacó e Jacozinho
Brave Dog
I was a good hunter but I don't like to remember it
Because I lost my wife on the edge of the swamp
It was just me and the dog and a little son to raise
The dog was brave, taught to hunt
But for me it was tame
It looked like a kitten
Of those of the Angora breed
There was a jaguar in that area
The jaguar that killed my beloved wife
The terror from the backlands did not fall into the ambush
I swore to take revenge, I set out on the hunt
To leave I prayed a rosary
I left my son in the crib
And I left the dog on guard
Looking for that jaguar I went into the forest
After walking a lot, I stopped and thought for a moment
I treated the child well, I gave him plenty of food
I didn't give the dog anything, not even water or food
If he gets hungry
My little son he eats
That was my thought
I abandoned the hunt, came home crying
The bloody dog came right away celebrating
You killed my little son, you criminal tyrant
I shot the dog twice, it died at the muzzle
But when I got to the door
I found the dead jaguar
And my little son playing
