Look at the life I’m living now
It’s been 10 years since I left my land
Away from my people and my friends
From the customs I was born into

It’s been 10 years and that’s a long time
It hurts my soul and I feel defeated

And I want to go back to my hometown
Visit my friends
Stay close to them
Feel like I’m alive

A great pain I feel in this distance
It’s consumed me over time
I have no peace at any moment
I feel like my soul is lost

I look at my parents and they’re getting old
I’ve lost them in the distance
I want to recover from those lost times
Next to my parents and all my friends

Sometimes I can’t sleep thinking
About those moments and when they’ll return
And I picture myself out there partying
With my people who are good folks

With my brothers, with my friends
With everything I was born into

And I want to go back to my hometown
Visit my friends
Stay close to them
Feel like I’m alive
