Le crabe
Françoise Hardy
The crab
I put a crab in the jar
Where my two fish were bored
I put a crab in the jar
Where my two fish were bored
Between the seaweed of the bazaar
They lived there peacefully
But the two metal clamps
Threaten their scales now
I planted two large lemon trees
Very bitter in the house
And then I cut their roots
They are now growing for no reason
My aquarium and my orchard
Are the example of my gentleness
So that my happiness is perfect
I put a crab in your heart
And his wobbly gait
It changes the course of time
And I see you coming back
At the whim of his pinches
And if one day I get tired
To the point of being too bored
I would throw in the jar
Your heart that is covered with scales
I put a crab in the jar
Where my two fish were bored
I put a crab in the jar
Where my two fish were bored
Between the seaweed of the bazaar
They lived there peacefully
But the two metal clamps
Threaten their scales now
I put a crab in the jar
Where my two fish were bored
