Mi Pasado y Mi Presente
Edgardo Nuñez
My Past And My Present
Here's a corrido for you
It's called My Past and My Present
It's one of the corridos that I really like
Old man
Here's to all my people out there
He says, play it, Palo
I'm going ro talk about my past
I'm going to tell you about my life
Not everything is as it seems
I've struggled too
I come from humble beginnings
And there are many sad moments
Impossible to forget
Poor old folks worked way too hard
Their purpose was to give us a bite to eat
A dose of love for dessert
Maybe we were very poor, but very lucky
I was born in Sinaloa
I'm from a town called Angostura
In case anyone has any doubts
It's close to La Rosca
Due to the turns and twists of fate
Shortly after I was born, they brought me to Sonora
And the click ticks away the hours
Time passes and many things happen
I lost my father and my brother
Sometimes people see me as happy, but the reality is different
I have a trio of queens
My mother brought me into this world
And that's why I love her so much
I don't think there's anyone like her
And to that beautiful lady
Who became my wife
I will love her until I die
My doll is the prettiest of the three
I confess she's a mischievous girl
I show off my kids wherever I go
My little ones know for sure
That I'm here for whatever they need
My mother is there on the ranch
I apologize if I haven't told her
That I'm really grateful
For everything she has given me
I've learned to value the beautiful things
I'm truly proud of my past
Those times I played with my siblings
When we ran barefoot and laughing
Those are the moments that remain with me
Even though my luck changed
I started from the very bottom
Then I roamed the streets
On board in a patrol car
I told myself life is hard
But I have to find a way
One day I ran into a friend
And as soon as he saw me he said
You want to take a chance?
I remember that I replied right away
You just say the word, I'm ready to go
Since then I've had the support of the Lord
With his brother, I'm living large
My friends already know
Now my life has changed
Today things are different
I'm not bragging about cash
But there's enough for tortillas
And to those who came before us
We keep them in our minds
Of course, they're not forgotten
Greetings to the people who take care of me
The boys are always up for it
The team is still going strong
Nice to meet you, I'm Tunco
And sticking to the line
That's where we are, my past and my present, my friend
A big shoutout to all my people
A hug for everyone
