Sinterklaaslied
Drs. P
Sinterklaas Song
You won't believe it
But folks, it's true
I feel a bit less excited than last year too
A little less breath
A little less strength
What else would you expect from such an old man at length?
My helper's laughing
And bouncing up and down
Oh no, that's my horse, well, I don't need this crown
It's dark and chilly
Here in the north
And no matter what I say or do, the kids are still a force
When I shuffle in my robe
Through cathedrals I probe
Life can still go on, I guess, in this globe
But when November hits
I think of December's bits
And with a hollow voice, I brace for the worst bits
It's always the same old fuss
And always dressed to impress
They call me little rascal, I don't know what that's meant to express
And always those faces
That screeching song
And no one realizes how much I long for retirement's song
They've been waiting for weeks
For me to show my face
Eager for cookies and treats, it's a wild race
Come on boys, don't push
And no damage, just hush
He's coming, he's coming, good old Saint Nick, he's back in the rush
The moon shines through the trees
The forest's hard to see
But yeah, he's up there, flying high in his machine, you see
And I'm down here walking
From wall to wall, it's true
There must be something wrong with the structure of our view
But I must say honestly
I still find it nice
To be as popular as Drs. P, that's my slice.
