Adiós A La Mama
Charles Aznavour
Goodbye to Mom
They're here, they've arrived
At the call of love
The mother is dying
Everyone finally arrived
From all over the country
From the oldest to the youngest
Everyone around the mother
And even children when playing
At one end of the room
They try hard not to scream
It is a last attention to the mother
Everyone takes turns taking care of her
In caring for her and embracing her
The mother is dying
Saint Mary, Mother of God
Our Lady of Sorrow
Everyone prays to you with fervor
And they sing Ave Maria, Ave Maria
So much memory and so much love
Around the breast
So much sighing, so much pain
Around the breast
The meeting is formed again
And so for the last time
The mother is dying
And as a rite on the occasion
They pass over and over again
The fish-flavored jar
Who drink in moderation
It's weird but there's no sadness
There is great resignation
And while a brother prays
The other sings a song to his mother
And the women have gathered
Around the older sister
The mother is dying
A half-burned candle
Before an image of the Lord
With a blackened rosary
Everyone repeats the prayer
Hail Mary
So much memory and so much love
Around the breast
So much sighing, so much pain
Around the breast
That never, never, never
He will never leave us
