I went to relive the past
In the streets of Mouraria
I saw no singers or fado
From Graça to Guia
The houses huddle close
Full of faith and virtue
Around the little chapel
Of Our Lady of Health
It was there where Severa
Sang fado and lived
But the fado of that time
Died when she passed away
And from the old tradition
There's little left these days
Those times that have gone by
Won't return to Mouraria
