Old Plow

Strolling through the city streets
From an upscale neighborhood where I was born
In the garden of a mansion I saw a plow
I stopped my car and immediately shivered
I thought to myself this plow was once mine
And it was by the cable that I recognized

Bent cable already chipped and broken
It's the way I left you in the countryside
It was a punch to the root of the perobeira tree
In a jolt that's when I broke you
You got away with the material damages
Unfortunately I got hurt there

From the field I was taken home
With a lot of pain, very bad then I passed
My luck was the said healer
How it came to my house I don't know
He blessed me with knots on a string
That's how I later got better

The oxen that pulled the plow
They were found far away in the confines
Old plow, I'm looking at you with emotion
I feel your beak digging inside me
But destiny gave you as a reward
All white decorating this garden

Here the hummingbirds must fly
That nest around this mansion
You were just like the birds of the past
That surrounded you in the branches of the backlands
Old plow that made me miss it
You stirred my weak heart
