Yellow House

I still remember that house where I was born
Where I lived with my siblings and my parents
I received a lot of advice from my mother
Dad helped me way too much
It was yellow, I still remember that house
When December arrived, Dad would renew it
Then he would send for our people to be invited
To spend New Year's Eve in our yellow house

I felt like leaving my homeland
With the intention of getting to know my country
Daddy, tearful, gave me his permission
Saying, may God make you very happy
I asked my parents for their blessing and hugged them
My brothers, then I cried leaning against the window
I set off on a journey to a different land
I never saw my people again in that yellow house

As I think about returning to my place
To live in the same place where I used to live
This longing beckons me to return
That land where I was born and raised
I can no longer live in the same house
My brothers and my parents
They no longer own it
How I wish I had a little piece of this land
To build my little ranch next to the yellow house

How I wish I had a little piece of this land
To build my little ranch next to the yellow house
How I wish I had a little piece of this land
To build my little ranch next to the yellow house
