Todo Se Va
Andrés Obregón
Everything Goes Away
One, two, three for Andrés
At grandpa's house
We're all going to eat
There's the secret recipe and
Then play monster
My dad catches everyone
With his eyelids flipped
Scaring a few folks
Eyelids that blink
We just got out of school
Then college, then work
A short time among the stars
Feels like it lasts forever
But at my grandma's house
She doesn't remember me anymore
Everything goes away, life goes away
Without you noticing, you see it pass
Singing, dancing
Everything is wilting away
How is it that I'm 28
My grandparents are gone
I'm no longer anyone's grandkid
I don't live in the city anymore
Luckily, I have my parents
Though I know they're not eternal
They no longer have their parents
But one day they'll be grandparents
How is it that we're already in
What I never imagined
Some fears have arrived
And also what I dreamed
I dedicate myself to what I do
And I'm so in love
And one day I'm going to say it
Soon I'll have nephews
And it seems so strange
That life is so short
New joys come
After taking away others
It seems contradictory what I'm going to say
Knowing that flowers die
Makes the garden more beautiful
Everything goes away, life goes away
Without you noticing, you see it pass
Singing, dancing, everything is wilting away
There are stages and people
That I'm going to miss
I can't be a kid anymore
Play monster with dad
But one day, I'll be the monster
When my nephews are born
And I hope to be a good dad
When I have my kids
Because that's how life is, it’s born and wilts
Because that's how time is
It makes you old
And it made me want to live more
When I finally understood
Everything goes away, life goes away
Without you noticing, you see it pass
Singing, dancing, everything is wilting away
(Everything goes away, everything goes away)
Everything goes away
