Lisbon walked from side to side
Went to see a bullfight, then danced, drank
Lisbon heard the fado being sung
The dawn was breaking when she fell asleep

Lisbon didn't stop the whole night
Bohemian, extravagant, but patriotic
She went to eat grilled sardines at the fair
And to the second session of a magazine

From there she finally climbed to Bairro Alto
In the sky the full moon shone
She heard the fado being sung and then dreamed
