Un Millón de Palabras
Alex Ponce
A Million Words
My heart refused to admit
What my mind already knew
I no longer saw that spark in your eyes when you looked at me
And in the end, we became two strangers
Who know each other perfectly
It hurts so much to slowly stop loving you
A million words won't bring you back
I know because I spoke them
And a million tears won't bring you back
I know because I cried them
Why did it have to be this way?
You left without giving me any explanations
After all I fought to keep you from leaving me
And I'm tired of insisting on something that clearly no longer exists
I never said goodbye because I wanted you to stay with me forever
I neglected myself, taking care of you, I stopped loving myself, loving you more
Tell me how I'm supposed to move on
And even if I write you a thousand and one poems, I know you won't ever come back
If you've already left my life, why can't you leave my mind
A million words won't bring you back
I know because I spoke them
And a million tears won't bring you back, I know because I cried them
Why did it have to be this way?
You left without giving me any explanations
After all I fought to keep you from leaving me
And I'm tired of insisting on something that clearly no longer exists
I was left wanting to know what we could have been and never were
