I'm lying face down
searching behind the couch for the shut-off valve
because snails are coming out of the sink
and the livestock is singing.

I have letters left to write
for wallpapering six rooms
the floor is coming up
and the ceiling's starting to shake
if I walk through the hallways
looking for a piece of the sea.
