Castillos En El Aire
Alberto Cortez
Castles in the Air
He wanted to fly just like the seagulls
Free in the sky, in the open air
And the others said: "Poor fool!"
"Doesn't he know that flying is impossible!"
But he spread his wings towards the heavens
And little by little, he gained some height
And the others stayed down on the ground
Keeping their sanity
And he built castles in the air
In the bright sun, with clouds of cotton
In a place where no one ever
Could reach using reason
And he built fabulous windows
Full of light, magic, and color
And he summoned the sprite of things
That has a lot to do with love
Seeing him so happy, the others
Sounded the alarm, rules were set
"We can't let this be contagious
Trying to be happy like that"
The conclusion is clear and decisive
They condemned him for his craziness
To live again with the people
Dressed in sanity
For building castles in the air
In the bright sun, with clouds of cotton
In a place where no one ever
Could reach using reason
And for opening fabulous windows
Full of light, magic, and color
And summoning the sprite of things
That have a lot to do with love
Here ends the story of the fool
Who wanted to fly like the seagulls
In the air, like the open air
But that's impossible, right?
