Time Machine

I whispered with a smirk, no worries here
On a nearly empty platform, I pretended to be tough

Suddenly, the sound of parting echoes, calling me
I won’t be able to see that familiar crying face for a while

My voice gets drowned out, I gesture to convey
A sign of ‘take care’ as you leave

Slowly fading away, leaving everything behind
I’m not sad at all, I locked that away for real

I can see it, vaguely, yesterday’s vision unfolds
Spreading out to my left and right, it’s taking me along

The scenery slips past me, drifting away
Leaving me behind just like that day

Tears spill, I don’t even know what they mean
Rocking in this time machine, I’ll be okay tomorrow
