Why did it have to end like this, all that I was building?
I gathered friends and family, but why are they saying goodbye?
They'll remember me, all that I lived, I don't want them to cry
Now that I'm not here, they want to send me off and give me flowers.

Every verse I wrote for my three favorite people
Filled my heart, they were my most beautiful experience
I watch over them from here, feel secure about their future

Envy disguised itself so well, but never trust anyone
Don't carry my pain anymore, 'cause I don't want anyone to suffer
Raise a glass to my health and throw a party with live music
And every time you remember me, come sing me a bunch of corridos.

They named me Juan Carlos, and that's how I started my journey
I showed and shined with attitude until I became recognized
We'll never forget the nights of studying, writing cool stuff
Good at improvising, very intellectual, and your style is unique.

But my music is still here, I know I've achieved my goal
To San Luis and all my country, proud and always grateful.
