Those leaves that you’re missing
I ripped them out of your notebook
I’m taking them away real slow
For this journey I’m starting today
I leave you my blue and red shield as a keepsake
It’s the most precious thing I own
It carries all my feelings
No more words are left
What connects us is just silence
Which is the only thing that teaches
Until the wind finally takes it all away
It’s the last glance at what’s left of this fire
That will go to abandon the shield and the blank pages of your notebook
And now I can leave knowing I’ve left everything
