Los Mandados
Vicente Fernández
The Errands
I crossed the Rio Grande swimming
Without caring about two currents
The border patrol threw me out
And I ended up in Nogales
I entered through another border
And they threw me to Juarez
From there I went to Tamaulipas
And sneaked in through Laredo
I disguised myself as a gringo
And dyed my hair blonde
And since I didn't speak English
They sent me back again
The border patrol caught me
Let's say three hundred times
But it never tamed me
It made me run errands
The blows it gave me
I returned them to its countrymen
I entered through Mexicali
And San Luis Colorado
I crossed all the lines
Smuggling and wet
But I never backed down
I went back and forth to the other side
I know all the lines
Roads, rivers, and canals
From Tijuana to Reynosa
From Matamoros to Juarez
From Piedras Negras to El Paso
And from Agua Prieta to Nogales
The border patrol caught me
Let's say three hundred times
But it never tamed me
It made me run errands
The blows it gave me
I returned them to its countrymen
