Amén sin tilde
Vaes
Amen Without an Accent
I'm a Christian
Since I can remember
I was told all the stories
Of Jesus loving the people
I grew up
I saw rejection of those who were different
I saw that we all were exclusive
Until one day I understood
That being a Christian
Isn't just ending every prayer with an amen
It's about loving each other from the heart
And understanding people's struggles
Not being indifferent to pain and evil
And being a Christian
Isn't just walking with a Bible under your arm
It's about giving each other a hug
And even if we can't hug today
Understanding that receiving is never better than giving
Amen without an accent
And without borders
Let every time be like the first time
Amen with strength
Amen without fear
Let love be the fire
And hate the ice
And hate the ice
And hate the ice
I'm going to start with myself
Sometimes I do the opposite of what I preach
I brag about grace but sometimes I don't apply it
That's why I beg you
Listen to me very well to what I'm about to say
And if the Bible in your hand keeps you from hugging
Put it down for a moment
It's better to lend a hand
Than to recite all the testaments
It's better to be that friend
It's better to give that breath
Jesus already did it with you
In dance, He changed your lament
Tell me, why do you insist on judging others?
On how they dress, how they act, how they speak?
Have you forgotten that we've all messed up?
And that life isn't about judging and condemning
They say to love, yet they contradict themselves
If they don't bless those who aren't the same
They say to love, yet they contradict themselves
If they don't bless those who aren't the same
Amen without an accent
And without borders
Let every time be like the first time
Amen with strength
Amen without fear
Let love be the fire
And hate the ice
And hate the ice
And hate the ice
