Homenaje a Santander
Uriel Henao
Tribute to Santander
I was born in Puerto Araujo
And I’m not ashamed to say I’m from there
On the contrary, I feel proud
Because I love my hometown so much
Santander, land of the brave
And today with my song, I want to greet you
And highlight the values of this land
And I hope those I can’t name will forgive me
Long live Vélez, long live Barbosa, long live Socorro, San Gil and Puente Nal
Bucaramanga, Barranca, and Cimitarra are beautiful lands I can’t forget
Long live Lebrija, long live Landázuri, Piedecuesta, Puerto Parra, and Charala
Barichara, El Playón, and Guadalupe, in Villanueva and in Yarima, you’ll find me
Long live Gambita, Jesús María, La Belleza, Simacota, and Vado Real
San José de Miranda and Aratoca, Puerto Olaya, San Fernando, and Chipatá
Long live Cerrito, long live Güepsa, Capitanejo, Betulia, Málaga
Contratación, Puerto Wilches, Rionegro, Puerto Araujo that can’t be missed
It’s a pride to sing to these lands
Of kind people and truly noble
And so I shout, "Long live Santander!"
Long live its women and men, truly
Up with Oiba, Sabana de Torres, Santa Rosa, Curiti, long live La Paz
San Vicente and Carmen de Chucuri, in Zapatoca and Suaita, you’ll find me
Long live Girón, Floridablanca, lower Jordán, upper Jordán, and Suratá
San Rafael, San Andrés, Pinchote, and Sucre
La Pradera, San Miguel, long live Galán
Long live Mogotes, long live Confines, Mesa de los Santos, Guavatá, and Cepita
Concepción, El Peñón, long live Bolívar
Long live La Granja, Albania, and Florian
Long live La Aguada, long live Matanza, Guacamayo, Santa Helena, and Olival
In San Benito and with Cité, I say goodbye
And I hope those I can’t name will forgive me
