Bullying

They invited her to hang out at the park
She was excited because that never happened
When the afternoon slipped away waiting
She realized no one was going to show up

They took a picture of her secretly
Posted it online and said
"Look at the loser, she’s about to cry!"
"She thought someone actually wanted to be with her!"

He makes excuses every morning
When there's school, he never feels like it
He locks himself away, avoids conversations
And doesn’t have to explain the bruises

She was on the rooftop, scared
They yelled for her to jump and filmed it
And she felt as the voices faded away
That the breeze on her face calmed her down

That shouldn’t happen here
We’re far from it being like this
It’s not going to happen to me
It’s just that it happens quietly on the side

If even the teacher isn’t informed on the issue
How are you going to stop it if you don’t even know?
Still, my kid had nothing to do with it
He was there, but didn’t want to get involved

If there’s no one else to see
There’s no one to entertain
Then the kid who bullied is the one pointed out
In that frenzy to have someone to blame

No child acts like that
If they’re happy in their childhood
How do you expect them to share what’s happening
If they see you spreading hate at home?

If they can’t reach
Your moral delusion?
How do I expect them to empathize for a moment
If I can’t stop being intolerant?

I tear myself down for judging
From some social media
We need to get close to life, but for real
We need to show them they can live without hate

We need to break into pieces
Start from the mistakes
To learn to leave them
A better world
