I used to think that Easter
Was a celebration
Where there were only chocolates
And lots of sweets

I didn't know that Jesus
Died on the cross for me
And his innocent blood
Was shed for me there

If it weren't for his death
On that rough cross
I would be condemned
To live without light

But it turns out that the Lord
Did not give up on me
And his redeeming blood
Fell upon me
