La Envidia (Intro) (part. Raphy Pina)

Envy (Intro) (feat. Raphy Pina)
My dad always had a different way of seeing life
Another way to understand it
Another way to experience it
The 28th of May, 2000
Fate brought his life here on earth to an end
I remember the words he said as if it were yesterday
Keep faith in God, son, for He never fails
Respect those who respect you, and you will be respected
Don't measure people by what they have, but by who they are
But as a young man at last, I never understood what he meant
Until it was my turn to sit in their place and prove myself
He told me: Raphy, when the tide of life envelops you
You have to be precise in lukewarm waters
These are questions that can limit you
When it's time to leave, sometimes there's not even time to scream
I learned that envy is a vital tool
And it is used as a measurement
Envy divides the friend from the traitor
Envy only follows people who have some kind of success in their hands
Envy can be so close to you
Like within your inner circle, your home, your neighbors
Your family members, and even those at work
They're just looking for the best plans
Envy disguises itself as hugs, thanks, congratulations, and even love
Envy has no gender, color or, least of all, age
Only you can separate envy from kindness
If nobody envies you, it's because something's wrong
Son, you're sure to find the traffic
Envy is a feeling of those who have never achieved anything
And whom stayed in the same corner doing nothing
Envy is the lifeblood of many people
Envy is a measure that never lies
Envy is not a problem
Until the moment you feel it
