He walks so quietly
And his fur's a rainbow of colors
He purrs and gives me a gentle touch
Fills me with peace and warmth
And sometimes leaves his scent in my room

He has a sweet voice when he meows
And his tail held high is like a cane
When he guides me through my home
Caught a mouse, ate the tuna
Drank the little cup of water from my nightstand

My cat has no respect for authority
He's a cat acupuncturist by trade
My cat's a hot water bottle, a heart
And also my little brother
My cat's a reflection of freedom
The shape of love but without possession
My cat's my lucky charm, my stuffed toy and
A voyeur of my love

He's not a panther or a lion
Not a puma or a fierce lynx
Just a cuddly little kitty
Fills me with light, tenderness, and peace
When he purrs in the morning as I wake up
