I know a wanderer from space
He roams the universe on his asteroid
Without an orbit, no port, no departure
He covers his loneliness with all the cold
Of his life

One day a bird arrived on his island
Inside a bottle that fit in his hand
It was sad to see him, all curled up there
Singing to the silence with no reply
Without meaning

The wanderer never heard his bird
And he watched it sing through the glass
Until one day his dream took over
And freed it from the white helmet
Of animals

The bird floated until it froze
Like the wanderer's tears
Then he put the bird in the cage
And let it go to the fate it came with
Never understanding
What happened
