Mi Poema

My Poem
If what happened to me hadn’t happened
My life would surely be different
Oh when I think I’m not who I wanted to be
I realize I’ve lost more than just loving you
Something in me is dying without feeling pain
My words are falling like flowers into the river
I’m a mountain man in your hills and when I kiss you I’m
Oh like a bird in the hand, gentle with affection
You’ve got me cornered
More for loving me than for my love
I won’t build castles in the air or in the blue sky
Tomorrow there won’t be a yesterday to remember
What would my misfortune be
Oh what would my poem be
If you leave my life
What would my sentence be
Oh because your words dominate me
And in every verse I want to make you my woman
If your gaze has the edge of a sword
My heart is an army in desire
That deep and mysterious look is
Like the moonlight breaking through almond tree shadows
Enchanting like a spring among reeds and ferns
Romantic like the rain at sunset
I’ll search for you in the night, clear as day
And in the wild painting of the royal road
I know I’ll find you always waiting for me
So what do I care about the world if your love will come
You’ve got me cornered
More for loving me than for my love
I won’t build castles in the air or in the blue sky
Tomorrow there won’t be a yesterday to remember
What would my misfortune be
Oh what would my poem be
If you leave my life
What would my sentence be
When there’s no sun on my path
And your letters no longer bring me spring
Oh my verses will be caravans of sadness
It will be my most bitter and crystal-clear weeping
