O Filho Pródigo
Sérgio Lopes
The Prodigal Son
The world gave me flowers when I arrived there
All the pleasures I found there
I couldn't see the ties
And how many troubles were waiting for me
And I gave in
One day I woke up without peace, my heart
Left to its own fate and loneliness
Remembering my dad
And the pain in his eyes when I left
I decided to come back
And humiliate myself at his feet saying
Lord, I don't deserve your forgiveness
As your most humble servant, I want to be
Your love, I just now realized
Is the wealth I need more than anything else
With tenderness, he embraced me, forgot my mistakes
And announced my return with a celebration
Who in the world can give without expecting a reward
Such a profound proof of love?
Lord, I don't deserve your forgiveness
As your most humble servant, I want to be
Your love, I just now realized
Is the wealth I need more than anything else
With tenderness, he embraced me, forgot my mistakes
And announced my return with a celebration
Who in the world can give without expecting a reward
Such a profound proof of love?
