Mixed Soul

Cosmic consciousness
Of magical heritage
Searching in the shadows
The traits of my soul

Learning to become an animal like a nahual
I am a body traversing the spiritual path
It's not linear
My language is ancestral
I travel in a spiral

Between worlds and borders
Questioning what is real
The good and bad
The unequal
The inherited, the acquired, and the imposed alike

I am a creature
Between cultures
Navigating through the garbage
The beliefs that nullify me
To give them burial
Mother nature
Sutures with tenderness
The rupture of my body
When I released my tough armor
And it doesn't mature
A wound if it doesn't heal
A mind without madness
A heart without attachments
To flow is to destroy and rebuild
A house without walls
And lose the fear of dying

I am mixed
Atrocious contradiction
I go
Four colors of corn in my color
I

Seeking identity in a racist society
The colonialist mind installed in my pupil
The reflection in the mirror returns what I believe
If I don't shape my soul
I do it in Eurocentric, phallocentric models
That turn my experience into an exotic object
Painting cultures with something folkloric
Taking away the subjective from theoretical models
They wanted me to silence the heritage of my blood
They wanted me to forget the violence to my mother
But they couldn't take away our internal fire
The eternal knowledge
The signs in dreams

That's why we defend our land and its secrets
With both fists raised and amulets in the soul
With the strength of the volcano
The roar of the jaguar
The strength of a warrior and animal spirit

I am mixed
Atrocious contradiction
I go
Four colors of corn in my color
I
