Um Jantar Pra Jesus (part. Robson Aguiar)

I invited Jesus to dinner at my house
I prepared a roast chicken for dinner
I don't have much and everything is very simple
But I did everything to please him

Everything prepared and the table set
Someone knocked on the door, I ran to answer it
He was a beggar, he was hungry
He asked me for something to eat
I thought: Now what do I do?
If I take a piece he will understand
But I skillfully removed a chicken leg
And I gave it to the beggar, for him to eat

He walked away saying: Thank you!
And may there never be a lack of bread on your table
Happy is the man who has charity
And it brings love into your heart

I went in and checked the table
To see if everything was in place
Suddenly there's a knock on the door again
I thought: It's Jesus, who has just arrived!

When I opened it I saw a child
All ragged and down to earth
His eyes asked for more than food
That I also gave you some attention

I went to the table, grabbed another thigh
The child ate very quickly
I saw the joy on your face
When with a smile she thanked me

Thank you very much, may God bless you
And may your table never be without bread
A man who has charity is happy
And it brings love into your heart

More time passed, Jesus arrived
And he sat down at the table for the meal
He looked at the chicken and I said to him: Eat!
And I was shocked when he said: No!

Still confused, he said: My Lord
I made you a whole chicken but I'll explain it to you
And he interrupted me, before I could explain
Looking into my eyes he started talking

I am satisfied with both thighs
From this roast chicken and prepared me
Today I knocked on your door twice
He was hungry and fed me

Everything you do for the poor and the little ones
He will do it to me, because they are my brothers
Happy is the man who has charity
And it brings love into your heart
