A Vida de Pároco
Quim Barreiros
The Life of a Priest
Since I was a kid, I had a dream
Being a priest was always my goal
In church, I helped out at mass
I believed in a bright future, you know
As a young man, I went to seminary
Because that was my calling, for sure
The life of a priest is holy
Everyone says so, and they’re right, for sure
Now ordained in my parish
I’m a happy and attentive priest
But it turns out in the neighboring parish
The devil’s been poking his nose in, at least
Bishop, I’m just a human
I’m confused, never saw a woman so fine
I ask for forgiveness, I want to plead
To switch to her parish, that would be divine
I want to change parishes
I can’t live without her
I’m going to be her priest
I want to be her priest
I want to change parishes
I can’t live without her
I’m going to be her priest
I want to be her priest
Since I was a kid, I had a dream
Being a priest was always my goal
In church, I helped out at mass
I believed in a bright future, you know
As a young man, I went to seminary
Because that was my calling, for sure
The life of a priest is holy
Everyone says so, and they’re right, for sure
Now ordained in my parish
I’m a happy and attentive priest
But it turns out in the neighboring parish
The devil’s been poking his nose in, at least
Bishop, I’m just a human
I’m confused, never saw a woman so fine
I ask for forgiveness, I want to plead
To switch to her parish, that would be divine
I want to change parishes
I can’t live without her
I’m going to be her priest
I want to be her priest
I want to change parishes
I can’t live without her
I’m going to be her priest
I want to be her priest
