Castração a Pealo
Porca Véia
Castration at the Lasso
Kicking up dust, the horse whinnies
Ringing the bells while herding the cattle
Chasing the mixed breed, swinging the lasso
Tighten my saddle, throwing the reins
I brewed my mate early in the morning
Started working as the day broke
In the back of the field, yelling at the herd
To come to the pen on a chilly morning
A wild and quick horse, I’m ready to go
I throw the ropes to my trusty dog
Rounding up the herd with shouts and kicks
Bold and brave, he’s herding with me
Whoever has faith in their strong hands
The whip cracks loud over the shooter
Already down in the center of the pen
Ready for the knife of the castrator
When evening came, I grabbed the accordion
And made the sad tune echo in the air
Then I saddled a chestnut mare
Headed to the pen to throw a lasso
I raised my arm and sent the rope flying
I roped a zebu that fell down bellowing
In just a few seconds, it got castrated
Bouncing its horn, it stumbled away
The whiskey in the horn shines with memories
What I did here will go down in history
The boss told me, "Make me a verse now
For the ranch Itacurubi"
As the liquor goes back and forth
The balls in the ashes just need a poke
Castration at the lasso, there’s nothing like it
This is the ritual here in my hometown
When evening came, I grabbed the accordion
And made the sad tune echo in the air
Then I saddled a chestnut mare
Headed to the pen to throw a lasso
I raised my arm and sent the rope flying
I roped a zebu that fell down bellowing
In just a few seconds, it got castrated
