La Roca Fría Del Calvario
Plácido Domingo
The Cold Rock of Calvary
Rafael. The cold rock of calvary
Hides in a black cloud.
On a lonely path
The virgin mother climbs.
She walks,
And her face is dark
Lily flower
That has lost its color.
And in her chest, lacerated,
The thorns of pain have been embedded.
Her wavering body
Bends under the weight of sorrow;
But she continues forward
She walks,
And her lips of ice
Kiss the ground,
Where a flower sprouts
In every drop of blood
Shed
By Jesus the redeemer.
Pilgrim shadow
Emblem of love turned light,
She walks,
Walks lightly
For the son awaits her
Dead on the cross.
Woman and mother!
Of all in the world,
The most sacred.
Lucas. Stop now, for the virgin!
It's too irreverent!
Rafael. What does Father Lucas say?
Prior. Nothing. (to Lucas) Silence
(To Rafael) Continue your tale.
Rafael. From a hill on the path,
The walking virgin
Sees the silhouette of the wood
And the agonizing son.
And she cries
Her silent torment
With a lament
That cannot be overcome.
It's the torn cry
Ripped
From her womanly flesh.
Divine star,
Upon the trace
Of human pain,
Sadly she walks, weeping walk
Mother of sorrow
Of the redeemer
