A Heart Like Yours
When someone offends me
When someone hurts me with gesture or word
I will look in the direction of Your love and say:
Oh my Lord, I want to have a heart like Yours!
That does not nurture resentments or grudges, that does not carry the burden of ingratitude
Give me a new heart!
When the pain of betrayal, when the cross of loneliness weighs on my shoulders
I will walk towards Your altar and ask:
Oh my Lord, I want to have a heart like Yours!

When someone unjustly accuses me
When they slander me with the weight of hatred
I will seek the light that emanates from Your chest and say:
