No matter how hard I try to be
A faithful and reverent servant to you
No matter how much I want to be
An imitator of this God I have known
No matter how much I strive
To never falter on the path
No matter how much my soul
Longs to find you
I know my transgressions and my sin
Are before me
I have sinned against you alone
I did what was wrong but I don't want to be like this
Completely wash me
From the iniquity that plagues my life
My God, hear my cry
And help me, don't let me perish

I don't deserve to be in your house
And I'm not worthy to speak
Your Holy name
But listen to my song
Come now and restore me

Hide your face from my sins
And erase my iniquities
Create in me, Oh God, a pure and sincere heart
Renew in me a righteous spirit
And do not cast me out of your presence
Keep Your spirit in my life
That's all I desire.
