Open my eyes and the day dawns
Bringing a new sensation
A pain that haunts me and strikes me
Like an arrow through my heart

Looking back and seeing that nothing from what once was
Belongs in who I am today
The greatest battle of this war is the one I face
With hatred that inside me remained

Even though I'm feeling my soul drifting away from hell
That one day consumed my being
The blood still running through my trembling body
And it tears my skin apart without nothing I can do

Everything looks so unreal and suddenly
I feel like my feet don't even touch the ground anymore
Nothing will ever be the same in my mind
The birth of my wings is my resurrection

Cut the tears
Out of my heart
Stitched New Wings
To rise into the sky

Still can't assimilate
The result from this transmutation
I see myself into the mirror to contemplate
What's left from my old formatting

My steps were firm, yet aimless
Always believing in the fulfillment
Of dreams that appeared as projections
Or mirages, hard to make out

I could not behold the endless heavens
Imprisoned in a life of sheer vanity
Body, mind, and soul all torned apart
Chained to needs that were never real

Now that I say: Goodbye for the last time
I'll be able to choose where I will fly
Free from you now I am
And I will not fear for breathing anymore

Cut the tears
Out of my heart
Stitched New Wings
To rise into the sky

If I had known it would 'cause bleeding
You never cared
My days pass by filled with so much longing
You left me
And nothing matters anymore
Made me stronger
Invincible, armored!
The drowned man can no longer drown

For me
Now I can be
Everything that I have to be
Left behind what doesn't satisfy and only brings me pain
With legs I could run
With wings I can fly
To seek peace, to illuminate the mind, to free oneself from resentment

And I know that I will approach to what was denied to me for so long
Why do I want to float against the wind?
