Sometimes it feels like being a Christian
Isn't easy in the dark
Especially if I think it’s not my light
But the bond with God that makes it spark

Sometimes it seems hard to understand
That a Christian is an example even when they don’t plan
And because of that, I need to pray
So God can light my way and help me shine today!

Lord, I want to shine for You
When the world fades away
I want that through my life
Someone can see Your way
Make it so that even without words
I can speak of Your love!
I want to shine for You
Shine wherever I go!

Sometimes I fear that I will fail
'Cause I know I've messed up, still I prevail
But if my light seems to fade away
God, give me strength to carry on today!

No matter how hard I try to strive
I can only win if He’s by my side
And when I see my efforts go to waste
What I need to do is hold on to His grace!

And when my light seems to flicker and sway
I just need to unite with that Light
That makes everyone shine bright!
