Bon Vivant
Ninu Mesquita
Bon Vivant
I have something in me
When I arrive somewhere
Free like a great kiskadee
My time cannot stop
I made up my mind
In a drink with fate
I step into the room
Looking for space
Close to the gazes
To fill a piece
That I can't seem to cover
And I keep trading
Day for night
So I don’t think about tomorrow
If it’s impulsivity
I guess I became a fan
Of my freedom
I want to be a Bon Vivant
I get lost, I fall in love
And come back like a Don Juan
Maybe it won’t work out
Where you think you'll get
Here in this city
I don’t want to stay anymore
If my freedom
Is my greatest talisman
I’ll throw myself into life
And live like a Bon Vivant
At first, there were many canaries
The canary was singing
We used to milk the cows with that thick milk
Some milk was even thicker
You know, there were plenty, those pepper-beaked birds
There were many, it was a good place for birds
Ducks? They were tame
And I keep trading
Day for night
So I don’t think about tomorrow
If it’s impulsivity
I guess I became a fan
Of my freedom
I want to be a Bon Vivant
I get lost, I fall in love
And come back like a Don Juan
Maybe it won’t work out
Where you think you'll get
Here in this city
I don’t want to stay anymore
If my freedom
Is my greatest talisman
I’ll throw myself into life
And live like a Bon Vivant
